Spring Football 2012 Tour Guide! (The Central Texas Area)

The Plenty Twenty
(Top 20 CenTex prospects that have a lot to offer to plenty of collegiate football programs across the US)

1. Darius James OG (Harker Heights) Texas commit
6'6" 310 4.9
The most dominant player in Central Texas who can excel at any position on the offensive line! He tested extremely well in all the skills tests at the CenTex Legit Football Combine last summer. Will be a candidate for all the major All-American teams. Nuff said.

2. Antwuan Davis CB (Bastrop) Texas commit
6'0" 185 4.3
Davis has the biggest trait that an elite corner must possess: GUMPTION. He is the best pure cover corner in the Lone Star State. He can run with receivers, breaks on the ball extremely well, has fluid hips, and is rough around the edges in run support.

3. Christian Lacouture DT (College Station A&M Consolidated) Nebraska commit
6'5" 250 4.9
Can play both defensive tackle and defensive end. Is a QB's blind side headache. Penetrates the line of scrimmage in spite of being double teamed. Uses his hands well.

4. Vincent Taylor DE (San Antonio Madison) Oklahoma State commit
6'3" 245 4.8
Big Vince is a hybrid between an end and a tackle on defense. Good use of his hands and great speed. Can chase down runners and lives in opponent's backfield.

5. Paul Whitmill LB (Bastrop) TCU commit
6'0 202 4.5
Has a strong nose for the ball. A sideline to sideline type of player on defense that is also a good running back. Whitmill has been offered by almost every big time college football program underneath the sun.

6. Andrew Billings DT (Waco)
6'2" 295 5.0
State champion in powerlifting. Dominates on both sides of the ball. Terrorizes the backfield on defense.

7. Benjamin Hughes DT (Waco University)
6'3" 310 4.9
State runner-up in powerlifting. Opponents often run away from his side. Still penetrates the line of scrimmage in spite of double teams. A legit run stuffer.

8. Dannon Cavil WR (San Antonio Madison) Ole Miss commit
6'5" 200 4.5
Great speed downfield. Can out-leap and out-muscle defenders for the ball making his talents demand double coverage. Athletically, in the Hart Lee Dykes mode. Would rank higher had he not missed his junior season with an injury but had a strong enough sophomore campaign at Lake Travis to establish a name among CenTex's best.

9. Chris Johnson QB (Bryan) Baylor commit
6'5" 210 4.5
Strong arm with the height and athleticism to match. Throws precise deep balls and can hit those sideline routes. Is almost as equally dangerous with his feet.

10. Jordan Sterns ATH (Cibolo Steele) Oklahoma State commit
6'1" 190 4.5
Although a safety, makes a better cornerback prospect for the next level. Fearless in run support. Outstanding leaping ability. Excels as a running back on offense.

11. Durham Smythe TE (Belton) Texas commit
6'6" 230 4.7
Runs crisp routes. Has soft hands and can out-leap defenders. Does extemely well blocking in the running game.

12. Naashon Hughes ATH (Harker Heights) Texas commit
6'4" 200 4.6
Attended the CenTex Legit Football Combine last summer and showed that he should be playing corner although he is a safety. Has a great vertical and can start and stop fluidly. He will see some time at QB as a senior.

13. Erik Huhn FS (Cibolo Steele) Texas commit
6'2" 205 4.5
Makes tackles behind the line of scrimmage without blitzing. A receiver's nightmare in the passing game by running through them. A ball hawk. Reminds me a lot of former Jim Thorpe Trophy winner Greg Myers.

14. Jimmie Gilbert (College Station A&M Consolidated)
6'4" 210 4.5
An outstanding rush end. Has long arms that he showcases in chasing down ball carriers. Does well in the passing game covering running backs.

15. Johnny Jefferson RB (Killeen Shoemaker) Baylor commit
5'10" 193 4.4
Very dominant athlete on the field. Changes direction very well and has outstanding peripheral vision. Great receiving skills as well and can also play QB. Runs a 10.5 in the 100 meters.

16.  Matt Beyer OT (San Antonio Reagan)
6'6" 280 5.2
Strong and coordinated. Easily drives back defenders. A legit shield for the quarterback's blind side.

17. Randon Knotts WR (Austin LBJ)
6'0" 185 4.5
Plays QB, RB, Safety and Receiver. A big play waiting to happen. Makes great catches and is looking for the end zone anytime he touches the ball.

18. Chrishard Buhl LB (Waco Midway)
6'3" 202 4.6
Can drop back in coverage against running backs and slot receivers. Runs through blockers to make tackles for loss and can chase down running backs.

19. Baylen Brown OG (San Antonio O'Connor) Texas Tech commit
6'4" 285 5.2
Regularly trucks opponents. Piles up on pancake blocks each game. Very strong. Has good feet, balance, and is very coordinated.

20. Randy Gober (Waco La Vega)
5'9" 188 4.5
Very strong - bench presses 340 and squats 515. Has magical feet with a killer spin move. Can break the long run at anytime. All I did was "ooh and ah" while watching his game film.
